The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) permits the holder to carry non paying passengers anywhere within Australia and its territories, depending on airspace privileges acquired during training. This is a continuation from the GFPT and confers the additional privileges of flying non-fare passengers within Australia and unsupervised day VFR flight, to the student pilot. As with the GFPT, the holder must hold a class 2 medical and a pass in the PPL theory exam. Time required to obtain a PPL is 4-5 weeks full time (excluding theory) and weather permitting.
